PM: Russia has own analogues for majority of foreign software

ALMATY, Feb 3 (PRIME) -- Russia has its own analogues for the majority of foreign software programs, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Friday at the Digital Almaty forum.

“The bulk of foreign software, already about 85%, has Russian analogues. We have started customizing them to the needs of business and producers. We support creation of new software products,” Mishustin said.

The country set up a system of centers of excellence, which involve more than 500 national companies, he added.

“Developers, managers, business representatives and the authorities are united by a common goal -- the enterprises should have the necessary and user-friendly software, which will not be worse than the foreign one. We have picked almost 200 initiatives. Some of them are already prepared for implementation and scaling up. More than 30 will be applied during this year and next year,” the prime minister said.
